Nu.Q® Vet Cancer Test – Clinical Overview
To determine nucleosome concentration, the test measures fragments released in increased quantities during apoptosis. While low levels are detectable in healthy individuals, nucleosomes accumulate significantly in cases of extensive cell death, such as in neoplastic conditions.
Indications
Primarily used for hematopoietic neoplasms, including lymphomas and hemangiosarcomas, to support therapy monitoring and early relapse detection.
Eligibility Criteria
Patients should be clinically healthy and free from inflammatory disease, as these conditions may affect nucleosome levels and compromise test specificity.
Pre-Analytical Recommendation
A minimum 4-hour fasting period is advised prior to sample collection to reduce variability and improve result reliability.
